A veteran in the alternative investment space, Matthew spent 13 years at Grosvenor Capital Management (“GCM”), the fund of hedge fund pioneer.

Based initially in Chicago but later seconded to Tokyo and Hong Kong, Matthew spent the majority of his tenure at GCM as a member of the investment team, eventually becoming Asia Strategy Head and one of four portfolio managers globally within the firm.

Matthew left GCM in 2014 to help found Guard Capital Management, a Hong Kong-based global macro hedge fund. As Head of Business Development & Investor Relations, Matthew helped raise approximately US$1.5 billion during his three-year tenure with the firm. Matthew also founded and was the CEO/CIO of Dalpha Capital Management, a hedge fund focused on digital asset trading strategies.

Matthew received a B.A. in Economics from Lake Forest College and an M.B.A from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
